As the Covid-19 pandemic is spreading at a rapid pace and that the medical infrastructure of the country is facing a huge burden with the growing number of people being infected with this deadly virus, it is a moral responsibility of the Non-Governmental Organization to supplement the Government’s efforts to fight this pandemic.
As a moral responsibility of being the charitable trust and in response to the call from the Government of India, the board member has decided to contribute and aid government by supplementing their efforts in our own small way. One of the most important factor in containing the spread of this virus as of now is by implementing the hygienic habits of each and every individual of the nation. Therefore the member has decided to distribute protective face mask and sanitizer to frontline warriors such as doctors, nurses, police personnel, sanitation workers who are tirelessly working days and nights to fight against this ongoing pandemic.

Free Distribution of Mask & Hand Sanitisers
By distributing books and stationary to students under charity program, the Trust has hoped that such program will benefit thousands of students in thier studies.
Free Distribution of N95 Masks
Inorder to encourage the students to attend the class during rainy season, the Trust has distributed rain coats for the students at various local schools.

With so many books to study and carry at school, the Trust has hoped that by distributing schools bags to students will benefit for them to carry their study materials on school days.

Lots of students missed their school during sunny and rainy days, to in order to help them during their school days, the Trust has distributed 2400 umbrellas.

The Additional Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has on 01st April 2020 wrote to all the FCRA registered Association to seek support in containing and managing this pandemic.

N95 Masks Distribution
NIOSH Approved V-4400N95 Mask
With the growing number of Covid-19 cases and immediate risk to the frontline warriors, the board members of the Ewam India Charitable Trust decided to contribute the protective mask for the frontline warriors such as doctors, nurses, police personnel, sanitation workers & as per special request from the Gangtok Municipal Corporation a good quality face shield for Covid mortality cremators who are tirelessly working days and nights to fight against this ongoing pandemic.
There are numerous brands and qualities of mask available in the market but the board member decided to distribute good quality and most importantly clinically approved mask. Therefore after consultation with the medical experts the VENUS mask which is NIOSH approved V-4400N95 Mask & STUDDS FACE SHIELD was chosen for this charity program.
Free Distribution of Essential Items.
1st Phase of Ration Distritbution
Since the Covid-19 pandemic is spreading out of control and spreading across the globe at an alarming rate, the Government of India as a preventive measure to contain the spread of this virus has imposed nationwide lockdown for the last almost three months. The situation still is grim and the government may continue the lockdown if the situation didn’t improve.
This pandemic and the lockdown has caused the nation’s economic slowdown and the worst affected victims are the poor people, daily wages and labourers who became jobless as the factories & workplaces were shut. Millions of people loss their job and sources of income, there were shortages of food and the reports .
Considering this grim situation the board member has in consultation with the local Panchayat decided to distribute free essential ration to 300 poor and needy people who are worst affected by Covid-19 pandemic. Local Panchayat and their members sorted out the list of poor & most needy people from their locality.

The covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent nationwide lockdown has tremendously affected the lives of entire population specially those of poor people.
