Charity Program of Books & Stationary Distribution

Books & Stationary

As the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the country and the state has gradually improved, the schools in West Bengal reopens in the mid of February 2022. In this two years of pandemic, less privileged students from the poor background were totally cut off from their regular school education. While the rest of the children were in touch with their teachers and education through online classes, these poor children and their parents unable to manage smart phones or laptop and internet connectivity suffers a loss which will take many more years to compensate.

After a gap of nearly 2 years teachers, staffs and many students are very excited to join in the regular classes, whereas many more failed to join back to school in order to help their parents and families to feed themselves in this critical times.

At a recent meeting, trust board members has decided to distribute books and stationeries to poor students studying in government or NGO run schools in and around Salugara.

A survey was conducted to verify the opening of schools and numbers of students attending schools and if the books and stationeries are required. The news of the distribution of books and stationeries has delighted both the teachers and students. As informed by some of the schools later on that more number of students started to attend school since the news of book distribution has spread. Teachers expressed that they were facing problems as many of the poor students attending schools were not bringing any books and stationeries with them. Therefore such charity will be of immense benefit to students, teachers and the parents too.

The charity program was taken place between 26th to 31st March 2022 in which 19 Government and NGO run schools were covered by this program. A total number of 12500 books and 2500 pencil sets were distributed to 2500 students. Each students were provided with 5 pcs of exercise book and a pencil set containing pencil, pen, eraser, sharpener, scale & a sketch pen. A team of trustees, staff and volunteers visited these schools to distribute the book, it was indeed noticed by the team during the visit to school that many of these poor students were not having any exercise books or some using old torn out exercise books. The school management, teachers and students were all delighted by this charity program and expressed their appreciation.

Highlights of Charity Programs for Students

Charity for Students

Education is the foundation for a modern society. It is through education that a child becomes aware of the society around him and also of the growing changes in the world. It is through education that the underprivileged section of society is able to join the mainstream and be able to provide for oneself, their family and for the development of the nation. Towards this end, all participating members are encouraged to adopt as many children from the poorer sections of society and give them proper education. They are also asked to provide the students with not only free education but also free food and accommodation.

So far Ewam India has organized various charity programs from time to time for students.
